Summer Daze

Boy, is it good to be back.

I find it funny that I'm posting this summer themed work as there's snow outside.

In the middle of April.

I'm very upset.

Anyway, I had a lot of fun making this one. It's the first thing I've worked on in months, and I missed it a lot. It was good to feel the sense of accomplishment that I haven't felt in a long time. With this project, I did all of the line work and color myself, rather than using Photoshop to alter a picture. It does take more time, but it is definitely worth it. I also spent much more time focusing on the small details, like the logos on clothing, the tattoos, and the shadows to make the characters look like they're actually part of the scene. I also experimented with changing highlights and shadows, and making my own lighting. I'm really happy with how the rays of sun turned out, and I'm excited to keep trying new things with future projects. It's really exciting to see the difference between this project and my last. I feel that there is a huge difference in the quality and detail of this project, and it's really good to see that I'm improving so much. Self-confidence has never been a strength of mine, so seeing myself improve like this helps a lot to motivate me to keep creating. I really hope I can continue to improve and make things people enjoy!
